Live a Joyful Life
We have all suffered. Life is seriously challenging at times. Whether you are worried about your children, a difficult boss, or a recurring health problem, it brings you down. Many of you are suffering right now. Generally, we grow because of it and often we say why me?
I saw my mother struggle and suffer after losing my father and sisters in a house fire. I suffered too, not only the third degree burns down the front of my body, but also from the loss of three family members that I loved and loved me. On top of that, my mother who was so wounded she lost herself in alcohol.
And yet, here I am offering thoughts on how to move from the pain to a happier life. Lately, I’ve been comparing it to building an underground garage.
To heal one must:
- Analyze and glean info from the soil
- Use tools, supplies and equipment (a master plan, permits and inspections).
- Trench and stabilize
- Add support structures and eventually build a strong foundation, walls and floors.
Eventually, the parking garage will be so well built it holds hundreds of cars and can stand up to any storm. Just like you – healed, the old pain resolved and the light of day shining in, everything in working order. Your parking garage up, functioning and strong enough for a storm. That means you with inner peace.
Keys for today: Use your resources:
- Ask for help.
- Allow yourself to be vulnerable.
- Go to the library or the internet to answer your questions.
- Create a support system for yourself.
- Ask for what you need.
- Do one thing to move yourself forward.
All these actions steps are part of the healing process. Each little action you see through from this list makes a difference. It shows you care about you and your well-being.
You deserve joy. We all do. Just because life is called a school doesn’t mean it can’t also have a playground. Once we do the work, we get to play! Life can be much lighter.
